The Crime, Law, and Justice graduate program at Penn State is one of the nation's top programs in criminology and criminal justice. Housed in the Department of Sociology, this program offers an advanced education to persons interested in careers involving research, scholarship, or policy analysis. The graduate program provides training in theory, methods, and substantive issues relating to crime and its control, as well as general research methods and statistics. Faculty have specialized expertise in criminology, law and society, and criminal justice. PSU's program adds the strong theoretical and methodological foundation provided by an outstanding sociology department. Thus, our students can receive training that qualifies them to pursue careers as sociologists. Moreover, because we are also an interdisciplinary program, we offer students many other options as well.
