Fees and Costs

The lab is available to all Penn State researchers, regardless of their current funding situation. All services provided to researchers who are new to this technology are free, subject only to scheduling constraints of the facility and support staff. Researchers who use the lab to support new proposals--particularly R03 and R21 efforts--are asked to include the cost of lab consumables in their proposal budgets. Researchers who use the lab to support larger efforts (e.g., individual R01 proposals) are asked to include both the costs of consumables and hourly lab costs in their budgets. In special cases, the lab staff can be hired to perform data acquisition and analysis: costs for these types of services are dependent on the scope and duration of the project.
