Co-Funding of Faculty
Procedures for Submitting Co-Funded Faculty Proposals
The Dean of each college may submit up to 2 proposals in any of the theme areas with the total number of proposals not exceeding 4 per year per college. Proposals should not exceed 3-4 pages and should include the following information:
- Statement of financial support to pay 50% of the salary and 50% of the start-up costs.
- Justification for why the position would best be supported in a specific department/unit.
- Discuss how this position would fit within the college and department strategic long-range plan. Further, discuss how placing this position in the department would create a cluster of expertise or relate to existing faculty within the department as well as how this position would interrelate with an interdisciplinary (i.e., cross-department, cross-college) network.
- Discuss how this position would meet specific departmental teaching and outreach needs.
- Identify ways in which the faculty member's activities (teaching, research, outreach) might bridge across departmental lines.
