  1. Preventing health risk and problem behaviors.

    Understand the etiology and developmental trajectory of these behaviors, and identify the risk and protective factors that operate to influence them from the cellular level to the community level.

    Examine the interplay between family and societal change as it affects the cognitive and social development of children and youth, and to explore the impact of policy and support programs in facilitating family adaptation.
